Rain
4/21- Carolina Beach
The weather caught up to us today. It rained a good part of the previous evening after most of the thunder went away. It sprinkled on us this morning when we stuck our heads out into the fog. It did ease a bit around noon and I took the opportunity to head into shore and do some errands.
When I got back we went for a quick walk on the beach as how could we come to Carolina Beach and not go to the beach. It didn’t take long after we got back for the rain to continue. It should continue most of the night now.
It is also getting cold. Well it’s hard to call 50’s particularly cold but it’s been awhile so. The wind is now piping up.
After the ton of boat traffic we saw yesterday there was very little today. The morning had been foggy and then with the rain I guess there’s not much fishing to be done. Speaking of fishing the pelicans were having a field day around our boat today. It pretty constant that we could hear the splash of two and sometimes three pelicans hitting the water in short order. It was hard to tell how often they caught fish but they sure kept at it all day. I felt bad for one cormorant that just couldn’t seem to catch anything. The terms were having a riot as well.
We hope to be out of here in the morning with the tide as there is a dredge parked in the channel that people have been having trouble getting around. Hopefully it won’t be raining still.
