 1/6- Titusville

As I was leaving the shower last night a woman burst through the door and pushed me up against the wall. Be quiet she said and go into the toilet stall there and sit down. I was like, what!!?? Just do it now and she shoved me that way. Ok I guess, so I did that. She meanwhile crouched down and crawled over and got in the stall with me. Ok this is getting weird now I thought.

I thought she was a black woman at first but up close I could see that she had camo all over her face. What’s going on I asked. She said she thought someone was following her. She said she was a federal agent and that there was someone at the marina that was trying to sabotage a rocket launch. By now I am incredulous. Ha ha was all I could think to say but then she pulled out her ID and it did say something about a federal agent.

So what do you want with me I asked. She said she thought that someone in one of the boats had some sort of devise that they hoped to use on the rocket. She had a devise that looked like a tv remote that she said could detect the devise. She also said she thought she was being followed so she couldn’t walk around in the marina.  That’s when she asked me to do it. You just walk by the boats and when it detects something it will vibrate like a cell phone. She didn’t want me to anything other than tell her which boat it was.

So away I go walking up and down the docks carrying this detector. Not much happened until I got about 2 boats down from ours and the thing all but jumps out of my pocket. The boat is a pretty rough looking boat and it looks like it hadn’t been cared for in a while but I had noticed several people coming and going from it for the last several days. I note the number  of the slip and head back to the shower area to tell the woman but she’s not there. It does look like some kind of struggle took place as there is trash all over the place. What do I do??

All of the above is fiction. I just thought I’d spice up this blog a little with some creative writing. Anyway back to the blog.

Saryn arrived today and will spend the next 4 days here. She had a good flight and most importantly she now has a car!! It had rained most of the day but it finally cleared up around 2. It was also warm out. This is one of the first days in a while that I could wear shorts. Saryn certainly appreciated it as she was coming from Vermont.
