Drawers

 7/11- Falmouth ME

We were fogged in this morning. Not that it mattered much to me as I wasn’t going anywhere. I don’t really have a whole lot to do right now so I have been diving into cabinets and drawers. I have been finding stuff I forgot we had. That is one of the troubles with leaving your boat for a year. In one drawer for example I found a half dozen Apple charging cords. Why we need more than two is beyond me but I guess we just keep accumulating them.

Meanwhile back at the ranch …

I swing the door open and sure enough there on the settee was a pile of gray with a striped purple top.

“Hey miss, miss “ I said softly.

“Coffee” was the only sound that came out of the pile of gray.

“Sorry, there’s no coffee on this boat”.  This elicited a long groan.

“I’ll make you some breakfast and give you the code for a shower but I’m gonna need some answers to a couple of questions.” I proceeded to dig around for a couple of bagels to toast and I thought I heard some stirring.

The gray blob was slowly transforming into a human form. When the pile finally had a face such as it was I dropped a bagel on plate in front of it. It was gone almost immediately. I started counting my fingers to make sure one didn’t go missing.

“ OK, what are you running away from?” I asked. “ Because there are much cheaper and faster ways to get away from something than by sail boat”.

All for now…
