Falmouth

 7/9- Falmouth ME

I had a fairly productive morning as I changed the secondary fuel filter. Mr Perkins is now all caught up with his routine maintenance. I then prepped and sanded the bowsprit in preparation for applying some Cetol.

This afternoon I explored Falmouth some more taking a long walk. I found a bunch of trails through the woods in the back of a small park.

Ok so where was I —

The woman peeled off her hat. It was a Minnesota Twins hat so I just wished her luck with that. This revealed her brownish hair with purple streaks through it. Of course she was dripping water all over the settee so I wished she would get on with it.

“I just want to go sailing” she said. “I want to buy a boat and sail off into the sunset “

“Now!” I queried. “In the dark and in the rain?? Why are you knocking on my door ?”

“I really have no place else to go. “

“Well you have no place to stay here. Why me of all the boats in this marina?”

She really didn’t have much more to say and I was a little incredulous that she was even here. She nodded her head and stood ready to make for the ladder. I had no reason to let her stay. Hey she could be anybody and I had no idea what was going on with her.

But I guess my momma raised me to be nothing if not polite and here was definitely a damsel in distress. I just hope that the tables didn’t turn and put me in distress.

“ You can stay for the night at least until it stops raining. If fact there’s your bunk. The one you’ve been soaking for past half hour. “

“Oh thank you so much. I’ll explain all in the morning. “She blubbered through what could have been tears. It was hard to tell with all the water running off her.

Till next time
