No wind
8/21- Rockland ME
Again this morning there was very little wind and the forecast held no hope either. We sat for a while enjoying the peace and tranquility of Seal Bay until we just had to do something. So we set off with Mr Perkins pushing us along. We went all the way through the thoroughfare and when we popped out the other side lo and behold— wind. Not much wind mind you but enough to get me to put up our brand new sail.
We ran a close reach most of the way across until the wind died about a mile from the breakwater. We had been making about 3-4 knots until it completely stopped. Of course the minute we tied up the wind perked up blew from the east for a while.
We have been watching the effect of Erin in North Carolina and are closely studying the weather reports. It looks like we may seem some effects as early as Friday. This will mostly be waves and extra high tides. The wind comes later this weekend. Until then we will continue to enjoy the beautiful weather that we have been having.
